Where is Testronics

We are located in McKinney, Texas, which is about 30 miles north of Dallas, and about 45 miles east of the Dallas - Fort Worth Airport. Expect the drive from the airport to the plant or area hotel to take about an hour during off-peak traffic times and a little over an hour and a half between 7:00 - 9:00 AM and 3:00 - 7:00 PM.

The DFW Airport is rather large and has rental car facilities at the airport as well as off-premises. The rental lots located at the airport maintain north and south facilities. Either will work, just make sure to take the north airport exit. This will get you headed in the right direction. If you use an off-premises rental agency, use their map to get you to either highway 121 north or loop 635.

How to get to Testronics

There are two typical ways to get to Testronics from the DFW airport. Either take highway 121 north directly to McKinney, or take loop 635 east to I-75 and then go north to McKinney. Either way is about the same distance, (about 45 miles), but traffic is typically heavier on loop 635 during peak rush hour. Plan on the trip taking about an hour.

Take the NORTH airport exit. When you exit, you will actually be on highway 121 north. After about 1 mile, you can either exit to loop 635 east or stay on 121.

Highway 121 route - stay on 121 for about 40 miles. You will go through Lewisville, underneath I-35, through a bunch of stop lights, and will finally come up to I-75. At this point, 121 exits left and merges with I-75. Don't exit. Continue going straight. This will be Highway 399 Spur, and will turn into highway 5 after a mile or so. About 2 miles after the 121 / 399 split, you will come upon a stop light. You will be on highway 5, (also called McDonald). This is the intersection of McDonald and Industrial. Turn right onto Industrial and go for about 8 tenths of a mile. Turn left on Millwood. Our building is the last one on the left, about 1/2 a mile.

Loop 635 route - as you exit the airport, follow the signs to loop 635. You will stay on 635 for about 25 miles. Take the Interstate 75 north / Sherman exit. This is a left hand exit, so stay to your left. You will then be heading north on I-75. Continue north for about 15 miles. You will pass through Richardson, Plano, and Allen. Take exit 38a from I-75. This exit is a big right turn putting you onto highway 399 Spur. About 2 miles after the exit, you will come upon a stop light. You will be on highway 5, (also called McDonald). This is the intersection of McDonald and Industrial. Turn right onto Industrial and go for about 8 tenths of a mile. Turn left on Millwood. Our building is the last one on the left, about 1/2 a mile.

We recommend the AmeriHost Inn - 951 N. Central Expressway (972) 547-4500. Just let them know that you are visiting Testronics and you should receive our special rate.

Another place to stay is the Holiday Inn of McKinney - 1300 N. Central Expressway (972) 542-9471. A little bit older and noisier, but it is close to the plant.

The Comfort Inn - 2104 N. Central Expressway (972) 548-8888, is right next to the Holiday Inn.

There is also an AmeriHost Inn in Allen, (972) 396-9494, which is very close.

There are several hotels in Plano and Richardson which are also close enough to be convenient. Ask you travel agent to make sure that they are on I-75 (North Central Expressway).

Spring Creek BBQ and Papadeaux are two of the best. Right off of I-75 between Beltline and Spring Valley roads. About 10 miles south of McKinney.
